How did we get our start? HOOey founder Joey Austin wanted to provide western kids with access to a more progressive brand that reflected their passions and interests. After returning to Texas from California in 2009, Joey launched HOOey with just two hat designs.

Why the name Hooey? The name 'Hooey' refers to the knot a cowboy uses to finish tying a calf's legs together in tie-down roping rodeos.
